Search engine optimisation and promotion
Search engine optimisation is preparing your site for search engine listings, this includes-
  • Navigation and search engine access
  • Page coding and titles
  • Keyword research
  • Keyword focus
  • Keyword density in each page
  • Web page relevancy
  • Link popularity

Search engine promotion is the process of adding your site listing to as many search engines and directories as possible.

Ongoing consultation and optimisation. Over time we will be able to review and focus your pages to achieve better listings we will also look to adding new and fresh content regularly to improve the site for both visitors and search engines.

The result should be good traffic from natural search engine listings. Which in the long run is a very effective way to get a good return on investment. The process should result in the integration of your site into the web of the internet which will be a permanent effect if managed correctly.

Making the Internet a more informative place

Think how you can add good information to the web what are your companies expertise and how can you use the information you have to attract more people to your site and in turn to buy what you offer.

Further information on search engine promotion and the elements involved

Search engine promotion is based on the same theory as the internet, linked information pages . The internet consists of a multitude of linked page. All other features of the web are placed on top of this frame work, that includes shopping, flash animation and even pictures. So to make you place on the internet you will need to have a basic frame work to your site that is based on static text pages that are linked together with html hyperlink text. And there must be a search engine friendly link route from your root URL to the content pages.

Compatibility

Compatibility is the most important aspect of search engine promotion. Websites need to be in the correct format so that search engines can list them effectively. Removing the barriers to search engines is one of the first things we do in the Search engine optimisation.

Keyword Density

If you wish to gain high rankings for a keyword we need to show that a page is about that keyword. For each keyword there will be thousands if not millions of other web pages containing that keyword and you are in competition with them all. We recommend as a general rule that in the average page the keyword should appear at least 5 times in the body text of the page and then included again in each heading and coding element. The aim will be to create a keyword density of about 5% for the keyword. Depending on the competition this can be high or lower.

Relevancy

Your rank depends on the calculation of your relevancy for a keyword. The two main elements of the relevancy calculation are, keyword density and link popularity. Help increase your link popularity by

a)      asking all companies that you deal with the swap links with you

b)      add a link to us page where people get the coding pictures and linking information to make it easier to link to you. You can offer a reciprocal link once their link has been established.

c)      Link building campaign where you contact all site with a similar subject to swap links. This is a long process that is best done by your selves with people you have dealing with,. It can be outsourced, but the cost is high due to the time it takes.

Location

Virtual location where you are in comparison to other sites. The Internet often described as the web,  is comprised of over 11 billion pages all linked together in a web like structure. Due to link popularity and Page rank your virtual neighbourhood is important who links to you and who you link to is important in determining your position.

Physical location

It is important to give each of your pages some sort of location information so that you are included in local area searches. This is growing in importance as the ability for local searches grows.

Content

The Internet is based on linked information pages, every thing else is just an add on. Your sites first job is to provide good information about the subject relating to you. Your website needs to replace the information you would get from a sales person or being able to physical handle a product. You should be looking to give every piece of information a customer may want.  The last thing you want people do is search from more information, as it will take them to other websites.

Make the process of using your website easy by providing guides and walk through these can be comprehensive guides or as little as related links to lead people through the site. The importance is that it be easy for visitors to navigate through your site  via the information, to the destination point which is usually the contact information or the checkout.

There should be 3 levels of information

Brief – this is information for people who need to recognise that you are the correct company to use for the purpose they already know about

Detail – from the brief information we lead into more specific information this is to clarify that your products and services or the correct ones.

All related information – the third level should contain every bit of information on all the subjects relating to your business, giving a wide view of the industry and situations your product or service can be used for

Having these three levels of information also gives us lots of pages that we can focus on different terms. While we target the more generic keywords with the higher level pages.
